Two of the most common types of eating disorders are anorexia and bulimia. Anorexia is identified by an intense fear of becoming fat, and therefore a fear of eating. People with anorexia have a distorted body image. They have such an intense fear of gaining weight that they hardly eat and become dangerously thin, consciously starving themselves out of an illogical fear of becoming heavy.
